Candle Care

At i Truly Adorn You, we believe that the beauty and serenity of our candles can elevate your home, offering not just light, but peace, reflection, and faith. To ensure your candle experience is as serene as possible, here are some helpful tips on how to care for your candles and make the most of every moment.

1. First Burn: Set the Scene for Perfection

For your first burn, allow your candle to melt all the way across the top, creating an even pool of wax. This can take up to 2-3 hours, depending on the size of the candle. This step ensures an even burn for the life of your candle and prevents tunneling. Remember, a well-cared-for candle provides a longer, more even burn every time.

2. Wick Care: Keep It Trimmed

Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch to avoid excessive flickering and to maintain a clean, even burn. A trimmed wick will also help the candle last longer and prevent soot buildup around the jar. Use a wick trimmer or scissors to gently snip the wick to the proper length.

3. Burn Time: A Little Goes a Long Way

To keep your candle in top condition, we recommend burning it for no more than 4 hours at a time. This will help the wax pool evenly and prevent the wick from becoming too hot, which could affect the scent or cause the candle to burn unevenly.

4. Extinguishing the Flame: The Gentle Way

When you're ready to extinguish your candle, use a snuffer or gently blow it out to avoid any splattering of hot wax. Using a snuffer is the most efficient way to put out your candle, as it prevents smoke and preserves the wick. If you blow it out, do so gently to avoid any wax spillage.

5. Keep It Clean: Prevent Dust and Debris

Always store your candles in a cool, dry place, away from drafts, direct sunlight, and heat sources. If dust accumulates on the top of your candle, simply wipe it off with a soft cloth or paper towel. Keep your candle’s lid or cap on when not in use to prevent dust and debris from entering the jar.

6. Safety First: Never Leave a Candle Unattended

As with any open flame, always keep your candle within sight while burning. Never leave a candle unattended, and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from anything flammable.

7. Wax Use: Don’t Let the Wax Go to Waste

When your candle reaches about 1/2 inch of wax at the bottom, it’s time to say goodbye! While it may seem tempting to keep burning until the last drop, a little wax at the bottom is normal and ensures safe use. You can repurpose the remaining wax for a homemade wax melt or dispose of it responsibly.

With a little care, your i Truly Adorn You candle will continue to bring light, peace, and spiritual reflection to your home. Thank you for choosing our candles to brighten your space and inspire your faith.
